Written for a general audience, this illustrated history of the Ice Age in New York State's Hudson River Valley takes the reader on a tour of the valley from Manhattan to north of Albany, pointing out along the way the effects the Ice Age had on the region and places where those effects are still visible today, helping the reader visualize what the various stages of the Ice Age--from advance, to retreat, and eventual melting--would have looked like in various areas from the mouth of the Hudson River in today's New York City harbor to the dunes of Albany's Pine Bush Preserve.
