MBB: John Connors and Vito F. Grasso sign and discuss "John Emmett Connors: Artist From Troy"

Market Block Books welcomes authors John Connors and Vito F. Grasso to Troy Night Out for a book signing and discussion of John Emmett Connors: Artist From Troy, a stunning visual and narrative portrayal of the artist’s appreciation of his beloved hometown of Troy, New York. The book includes recollections and depictions of some of Connors’ favorite places in and around the Collar City, including the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, the Frear Building, and Oakwood Cemetery, among others. Connors and Grasso provide a distinctive look into the creative process and the strong connections an artist can form with the architecture and history of a particular place.
Troy native John Emmett Connors is known for his local and New York City street scenes. He studied artistic anatomy and painting on scholarship at the Art Students League of New York, where he mentored under Robert Beverly Hale for four years and was awarded a Fine Arts Certificate of Completion. He also studied Sumi-e (Japanese brush painting), including studies in Japan.
Vito F. Grasso is executive vice president of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians. He has a master’s degree in public administration from the University at Albany and holds the certified association executive professional accreditation conferred by the American Society of Association Executives.
